Cafés in Huddersfield: hours, menu, parking — in that order

Before someone visits a café they check three things: are you open, what do you serve, and where do I park. If any of those takes more than a few seconds to find, they choose a different café. Almost every independent in Huddersfield fails at least one.

Hours

Hours need to be right in three places at once: the website, the Google Business Profile and the door. Google's map listing is the one most people see, and a wrong bank holiday there earns you a one-star review from someone who drove over.

A menu posted as an image can't be read by search engines, doesn't resize on a phone, and goes out of date the moment prices change. A menu as text is indexable, accessible, and shows up when someone searches for a specific dish.

Parking and access

In Huddersfield this decides more visits than the coffee does. Say where to park, how far the walk is, whether you're dog friendly, whether there's step-free access and whether you have space for a pram. It's five sentences and it converts.

Then, and only then, the atmosphere

Photography and brand matter — but they persuade people who've already established the basics. Get the practical questions answered above the fold and let the pictures do the rest.
