Getting found when customers ask AI instead of Google

AI assistants recommend businesses they can read and verify. To get mentioned, answer real customer questions directly on your site in plain English, keep your business details consistent everywhere, use structured data, and make sure your prices, services and areas covered are written out as text rather than hidden in images or PDFs.

What's changed

A growing share of "who should I use for X in Huddersfield" questions now get answered by an assistant summarising the web instead of a list of ten blue links. You don't rank in that answer — you get quoted in it.

What makes a page quotable

  • A direct answer near the top. State the answer in two or three sentences before the detail.
  • Real specifics. Prices, timescales, areas covered, what's included. Vague marketing copy gives an AI nothing to lift.
  • Plain headings that match real questions people ask.
  • Text, not images. Menus, price lists and service details trapped in a JPEG or PDF are invisible.
  • Structured data marking up your business, services, articles and FAQs.
  • Consistency. If your phone number differs across three places, you're a weaker source.

It's the same work as good SEO

Nothing here contradicts normal search optimisation. Useful, specific, well-structured pages win in both. The difference is that hedging and fluff now cost you visibility rather than just boring the reader.
