Web design in Glasgow: what a small business site should cost and do in 2026

A small business website in Glasgow typically costs £350 for a compact, findable site, £700 for a multi-page build with individual service pages, and around £950 when you need to sell, take bookings or plug into other systems. In a city this competitive, the site itself is only half the job — the pages that win enquiries are the ones built around a single service and a single area, backed by a complete Google Business Profile and real reviews.

Why Glasgow is harder than it looks

Glasgow has a deep pool of hospitality, trades and health services, and most of them are chasing the same handful of searches. A single homepage that lists everything you do will lose every time to a competitor with a dedicated page for the exact thing someone typed. Search results in the west of Scotland are also heavily map-led: if your Google Business Profile is thin, you are invisible before anyone reaches your website.

What the site actually needs

  • One page per service, written in the words customers use rather than industry language.
  • Area pages that mean something — the West End, Shawlands and Merchant City rather than a list of every postcode in the west of Scotland.
  • Prices, or at least honest price ranges. Hiding them filters out buyers, not tyre-kickers.
  • Proof near the top: reviews, recent jobs, before-and-after photos, named clients.
  • An enquiry route that matches how people actually contact you — WhatsApp, a call button and a short form.
  • Loads in under two seconds on a phone on mobile data, not on your office broadband.

The three mistakes we see most

  1. A beautiful homepage and nothing behind it. Search engines rank pages, not brands.
  2. No reviews strategy. In a city this size, a two-review business loses to a forty-review one regardless of quality.
  3. Social media used as the whole website. An Instagram grid cannot be searched, cannot be ranked, and disappears the day the platform changes its algorithm.

Getting found locally in Glasgow

Local visibility comes down to three things stacked on top of each other: a Google Business Profile that is complete and posted to regularly, a website with a page that matches each search you want to win, and consistent name, address and phone details wherever your business is listed. Most Glasgow businesses have one of the three and wonder why nothing moves.

We work with businesses across the UK, from Glasgow down to the south coast and up to the top of Scotland. The build is remote, the process is the same, and the outcome is measured in enquiries rather than compliments.
